Last weekend the national fencing championships took place in Velenje, and three members of Ljubljana Fencing Club took part. All three started fencing this season and won medals at their very first tournament.
Brin Božič competed in the boys D épée category. After an excellent pool, he made it into the elimination rounds and finished in second place.
Dominik Šteblaj represented us in the boys B épée category, where he faced much more experienced fencers, yet showed excellent skill and finished third.
We were also represented by a young woman, Ela Andlovic, who competed in the cadet women's épée. She fought bravely, showed her fighting spirit and finished in an excellent third place.
We are delighted that they crowned their hard work in training with such a successful performance – credit also goes to their clubmates, whose quality training sessions helped make this success possible.
You can see photos from the competition in the GALLERY, and the official results are on the website of the Slovenian Fencing Federation.
Warm congratulations to all three – we look forward to more successes.
